Buenos dias a todos! So this week was good! We have been doing lots of tracting trying to find new investigators, so there have been lots of interesting interactions with people. I love tracting because that is where all the random weird stuff happens! And when you hear a story about somebody's mission it usually starts with, "One day my companion and I were tracting and..." So yeah, tracting is the best! It has been super hot this week so we have spent lots of time talking to people while we stand there drenched in sweat. It gives us some extra motivation to get in the door with people. Which has been pretty successful as of late. Also, we keep our apartment at a nice 65 degrees or less so that when we come home we can cool off. We get spoiled in the states. #blessed We are getting pretty good at foosball. Well, at least we think we are. We think it would be funny to play someone who is a pro and then that would tell us if we are good or not. But, progress has been made nonetheless. This week I have realized how many miracles you get to see happen everyday as a missionary. I mean, tons and tons of miracles happen in everybody's lives but it's even more as a missionary! I have been trying to be better at recognizing the Lord's hand in my life. Usually what happens is I will realized after the fact. Which is fine. But this week I was able to notice things as they were happening right in front of me. It was cool. I talk more about it in my recording. So last week we went hiking in Leavenworth. It was sweet! On the hike there was an old mine tunnel cave thing that we walked through. It was fun. I'll send some pics! That's the update. Oh btw, I am an uncle again, its pretty sick. Love you all! 'Alrighty then,
Well, this week was good! Kinda crazy but good! On Monday my old comp Elder Taylor Scott Cannon went home! Then I was in a tri-pan for a couple days. Then on Wednesday I got my new comp Elder Kiser! He is so funny. He is going home in 2 weeks so things are gonna get mixed up again but its so fun! He is from the Seattle area so not far from home at all. Only like 2 hours. It's a party. So a few weeks ago we got a foosball table from this dude who was just throwing it away. It had one broken leg, so we took the other 3 legs off and now we just set it on top of our kitchen table when we want to play! Pretty much every night we get home, change, do some stuff, and then play for like 40 min till bed time. It gets so intense and loud! We put bets on every game! Elder Kiser and I won the other night, so the other elders had to make us breakfast and give us 6 minute massages. But then we lost so we had to clean up the breakfast mess. Its pretty fun. Im scared though because the bets just keep progressing. Soon they are gonna be eating some nasty thing or something like that. We shall see. But we are all super good at foosball now! Dania, our on-date, came to church again this week! She is so cool! She loves coming and making friends! We also taught a couple lessons this week were we had to be pretty up front with a couple people. Not in a bad way, we just try to help people see the importance and simplicity of everything we teach as missionaries. These two guys just are not doing anything. They tell us how much their lives suck and how they want help to change all these things, but they won't do anything we tell them. If they would just try it out in the slightest, they would see the changes they want. Yesterday we taught a guy named Manuel. He wants help to stop smoking, drinking, and he wants his relationship with his wife to get better because he said it is tanking. But he won't do anything. It's so hard when people choose to exercise their agency poorly. It's so hard when you are sitting there trying to help someone see the blessings that will come, but they never do anything so they are never going to receive those blessings. That is probably my least favorite thing about being a missionary. Anyway, other than that things are great!! I cannot believe how fast time goes. I have loved being a missionary and I wish I could be one for the rest of my life! Love you all, hope your weeks are fantastic! Elder Zev Harman ps. Sorry about no pics, and yet again no recording. I'll make up for it next week! |
