Hola!
Sorry I have not sent an email yet. We don’t have tons of time haha. I’ll try and do better though. So these first few weeks have gone by SUPER fast. It is crazy. We are super busy all the time which is awesome. My companion is the district leader so we are in meetings a lot and driving a bunch of places. It’s been pretty crazy, but it should calm down for the next few weeks. But yeah I have a lot to learn from my companion which is good! We have been teaching a lot and it has been great when I know what is going on haha. Spanish is getting better, but I am still super confused most of the time. But we have had some good lessons where I actually know what is happening and have been able to bear testimony and stuff so that has been cool! My companion is super good at Spanish so that will help me a lot. It is pretty snowy up here right now so tracting is AWESOME!! And it is fun driving as well. Except people in Washington are absolutely TERRIBLE at driving in the snow. It is ridiculous. So one night we got stranded and walked for like ever. But we called some members and ended up getting like 5 rides to a bunch of different appointments and eventually made it home so that was good. That was like my third night here. The members are great here! They are always willing to help out with everything, it’s awesome. We have had some pretty weird things happen that are just super random. Oh like last night we were driving through this orchard to an investigators shack and we saw a deer that got hit by a train and was ripped in half and a wolf was eating it...so that was cool. Then one night we almost got chased by these huge dogs. The dogs are so dumb. The big ones are usually nice and the little ones always try and bite and attack you. They have like little man syndrome or something. Anyway, oh one day we thought we were helping some people move, turns out we just like raided some other person’s house and took a bunch of their stuff. We didn’t know we were doing it at the time, but yeah we accidently participated in a robbery I’m pretty sure. There have been lots of other weird things but I don’t have time to write them all. So, we actually have an investigator on date for baptism which is SUPER exciting! His name is Arturo. He is from Cali but works up here year round away from his family. He is super cool and he is hilarious! I can’t wait for him to be baptized! He is so humble and so grateful for everything. That’s how most the people we teach are. Most of them have like nothing. They live in pretty poor conditions, but they are still so happy and just grateful for everything they have. They don’t worry about the things they don’t have. That has been a good lesson I have learned so far. We take so many things for granted in this world. It’s really sad. I just encourage you all to stop and think about all the things you have been blessed with in this life; the knowledge of the gospel being one of them. And the opportunity we have to return with our Heavenly Father again. It is all because of his son Jesus Christ. I hope we can all remember the true meaning of Christmas this year. It is awesome to see the change that the gospel brings into people’s lives. I am so grateful for the chance I have to be one of the Lord’s servants. Anyway, yeah the time is going by way too fast. I am not sure how I feel about that haha. And it has been kinda weird figuring out how to live on my own a little bit. Grocery shopping has been eye opening to say the least haha. Anyway, love you guys so much! Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for me! I would not be here without you guys. #GODSARMY Con Amor, Elder Harman |
