Hola!
Bueno, well this week was super good as always! Most weeks are good as a missionary. Anyway, so on Wednesday I received my new companion Elder Miles. He is from Highland Utah. Went to Lehi High School and played soccer there. Then he played soccer for a semester at BYU Hawaii before he came on a mission. He is super cool! And we are basically the same person! Im super excited to be his companion! Its gonna be sick! SO transfer weeks are always a little interesting just cause there are so many new changes happening and all that jazz. But Elder Miles is all settled in and we have gotten right to work. So you know the guy I talked about last week who I gave a blessing to? Well he is now on date to be baptized on June 25th!!!!! Wassup!!! Yeah so thats exciting! Any prayers in his favor would be greatly appreciated. His name is Daniel Santos. His wife is a member but less active of like 15 years and we are starting to work with her as well to re-activate her! SO yeah good things are happening with them! They came to church again and are loving it! Um not a lot else happened this week...but something I have been thinking a lot about lately is how important all the little things in the gospel are. We call it CPR. Because without it, our testimonies will "die". Church. Pray. Read. Those simple basic aspects of the gospel, change everything. If I skip saying my mornings prayer, my day just feels different. When we do the little things, the big things take care of themselves. Well thats all I have for this week. But here is a pick of an awesome silver chariot we found at salvation army in the garbage can! And also a pick of my old roommates. So our apartment is called The Crib. And there is a wall with pictures of groups of missionaries. And each picture is movie themed so for example one says "Fast and Furious: Crib Drift". Anyway, you are supposed to take a pick based off a movie and put it on the wall. So we did Ancribman.(Anchorman) Haha pretty fun just thought I would share. The next one we are doing Cribception(inception) hah anyway, super random. Have an awesome week! #GODSARMY #JESUSISMORMON Elder Harman

Hola!
Aight so this has been a pretty awesome week! Great things are happening here in Yakima. Anyway, yes we are finding some AWESOME people! A few things will be changing this week though, with Elder Fordham and I. First things first, Elder Fordham will be transferred to Moses Lake serving with Elder Spackman. And I will be receiving Elder Miles, who by the way, is Elder Spackman’s companion. So we are basically just swapping comps. Also, I have been called to serve as the district leader here so that will be interesting. I feel like I don't even know what I'm doing still so we will see how that goes haha! So something CRAZY happened this week! So you know that joke about why the chicken crossed the road? Well I don’t have the answer but I do have a cool story, well at least I think it's cool. So Elder Fordham and I were just sitting in the car talking real quick before we went into a lesson. When suddenly Elder Fordham stopped and said, "Elder, look!" So I looked over and what happened next absolutely blew our minds...A few yards ahead of us was a chicken on the side of the road. Then the chicken continued to walk. Yes, the chicken walked across the road. It crossed the road! And we don't even know why! Because when it got to the other side, it just turned around and came back! So we may never know why the chicken crossed the road. But he didn't just cross once, he went twice. Im not sure if that story was as cool for you as it was for us, but I thought I would share! Also, another cool story. So on Tuesday, Elder Fordham and I were out tracting and contacting referrals and all that fun stuff. And we were just walking the whole time for about 3 or so hours. And it was pretty hot, like 97 degrees hot. Anyway, so I was starting to get dizzy and see a little blurry and I just felt really sick. I was dehydrated. And I said to Elder Fordham, "Dang dude I need water like now." And in my head I said a little prayer that I would make it to the car to get some water. We just kept walking headed toward the car when all of a sudden I stepped on something. I looked down and there was an unopened water bottle under my foot. I didn't really know what to do, but I picked it up and it was a little bit cold and had not been opened. That kinda freaked me out a little, but I 100% believe that was a blessing from God. He truly is aware of us all the time, even when we are dehydrated and just need some water real quick to make it through the day. It was a good reminder to me. I think we get complacent sometimes and think we don't need His help, or that He is not willing to help us. But I testify that He is there and He is always ready to help us whenever we need it. So another cool story. One of our investigators, Daniel has not been able to come to church this whole transfer. He keeps giving us excuses and reasons why he can't. So we went by him on Thursday with a member to have a lesson with him, but he was having some family problems and was going to leave his wife and kids and go to Oregon the next day. We talked to him for a little bit and he eventually ended up asking for a blessing to help him make the right decision, whether to leave or not. He asked me to give him the blessing. And in the blessing I was prompted to promise him that if he stayed with his family and brought them to church on Sunday, that everything would work out. Then nothing really happened after that. But then on Sunday, we were waiting for Gospel Principles to start when someone told us we had an investigator in the hall. When we walked out, we saw Daniel and his wife and two kids standing there. We were speechless. We full on expected him to be gone to Oregon. So yeah that was pretty cool! We will see what happens with them! He is super solid and really has a desire to have a better life so we are excited! Well, that basically is all the coolest parts of my week so I will talk to you next week! Love you all! #GODSARMY #JESUSISMORMON Elder Harman |
