Hello everyone!
Well this week was good! Much better than last week for sure! I am not sick anymore, except my ears are still plugged and I can barely hear anything. So that has made things interesting this week. But other than that I am fine now! So we have been doing a lot of tracting this week and just trying to find new people cause everyone that was in the teaching pool when I got here have been dropped. So we are kinda rebuilding like the Jazz have been for the last decade...haha. Seriously though, we are finding some really cool people that could have some serious potential! So yeah this week some cool stuff happened, we almost got shot! Elder Miles and I were walking back to our car after tracting for a while and on the way walked past this two guys who were yelling at a homeless man about something he had done and Elder Miles saw what we’re pretty sure was a gun under one of the guy’s shirt. We were worried because we would have been the only witness if things had escalated and we definitely stood out. Thankfully they calmed down and we were able to get home safe. I also showed Elder Miles the tent city in downtown Yakima. Also, this week we found a super cool lady named Esther! We found her tracting on Wednesday and set up an appointment for Thursday. We went by on Thursday just thinking it was going to be another typical, "Otro dia"(another day), that every Mexican seems to say whenever we talk to them. But she sat down with us outside in her yard and we just talked to her and got to know her for a little bit and ended up teaching the Restoration to her. She seemed to really like it. She said she used to talk to missionaries before but slowly stopped. But when we asked her to be baptized she was super excited and kept saying, "Es me toca"(It’s my turn). She is so cool! And is on date for the 16th of July so we will keep you updated on her! We have been working with our branch to try and get them excited about doing missionary work. And we started doing a Branch family home evening to try and teach the importance of this work and get members pumped and wanting to come out with us. So we taught a little bit and played some games it was a blast! Hopefully it helps get them wanting to do some missionary work of their own! Well that is all I have for this week. I just really encourage you all to pray for missionary opportunities. Missionary work is the most important thing anyone could possibly do in this life. I think if we all understood the importance of it, we would want to do it. I wish I had a better understanding of it when I was home. I think I would have done things a little differently. So I invite you to pray and ask for those opportunities and take every chance you get to share this gospel with others. It is a huge blessing in our lives as members and it is our duty to share it. Anyway, I’ll talk to you next week! Hope it’s a good one! Love you all! Elder Harman Ps. Did you know Jesus was a gangster? I didn’t either...but we had a former member of the church tell us that while tracting one day...interesting haha.

Hola mis amigos!
Bueno pues, time is going by way too quickly. I don't like it. But oh well. Also, being sick on the mish is officially the worst. For a couple reasons: one because you are supposed to sleep and stay home for the most part, which then you feel like you are wasting the Lord's time. Second because when you do stay home there is nothing to do; no TV, no movies, nothing but reading and listening to talks. And third, your mom isn't there to bring you your medicine and take care of you. It's pretty terrible haha! So I have been sick since Monday with I don't even know what but its terrible haha. Anyway, I'm pretty sick so this week we were not able to do a whole lot. I have been trying to sleep as much as possible without feeling like an apostate missionary. Elder Miles and the mission nurse make us stay home more than I would like. But yeah so we didn't have a lot of time out proselyting this week which was not fun, but it is what it is. Also, this week Elder Miles and I have been pretty down just because we aren't having success. We get out and work our butts off but nothing is seeming to come of it. So that has been pretty hard. But the work goes on! All we can do is keep working as hard as we can and the Lord will provide. On Saturday I was sick of being inside all week during the day so we decided to go out and kill it till curfew. We weren't having any luck all day and we were kinda getting frustrated. Then at about 8:50 we found this tiny road that went back behind some houses and we decided to go knock any doors on that road. We knocked about 6 or 7 doors and nothing. Then the last door ended up being a 20 year old girl who was baptized about 3 years ago and was the only member in her family. As we talked she told us she had been waiting for missionaries to knock on her door because she thinks the rest of her family might be ready to hear our message. She said they have been asking questions and even went to church a few times. They weren't home at the time, but she gave us her number to set up a time to come by and talk to them. I don't know if anything will come of it, but it doesn't matter. It was a good reminder to us that the Lord is aware of us and that everything happens on His time, not ours. So nothing else really happened this week...Oh I had my first District Council which was fun! Other than that nothing really happened. Daniel and his wife, well girlfriend I guess, are still working on getting her divorced from the guy in Mexico. He is still super pumped about getting baptized, just gotta keep him excited till they can get married. Hopefully next week will be more entertaining sorry this is kinda been a boring week! Love you all! Talk to you soon! #GODSARMY #JESUSISMORMON Elder Harman |
