Hola!
Aight so this has been a pretty awesome week! Great things are happening here in Yakima. Anyway, yes we are finding some AWESOME people! A few things will be changing this week though, with Elder Fordham and I. First things first, Elder Fordham will be transferred to Moses Lake serving with Elder Spackman. And I will be receiving Elder Miles, who by the way, is Elder Spackman’s companion. So we are basically just swapping comps. Also, I have been called to serve as the district leader here so that will be interesting. I feel like I don't even know what I'm doing still so we will see how that goes haha! So something CRAZY happened this week! So you know that joke about why the chicken crossed the road? Well I don’t have the answer but I do have a cool story, well at least I think it's cool. So Elder Fordham and I were just sitting in the car talking real quick before we went into a lesson. When suddenly Elder Fordham stopped and said, "Elder, look!" So I looked over and what happened next absolutely blew our minds...A few yards ahead of us was a chicken on the side of the road. Then the chicken continued to walk. Yes, the chicken walked across the road. It crossed the road! And we don't even know why! Because when it got to the other side, it just turned around and came back! So we may never know why the chicken crossed the road. But he didn't just cross once, he went twice. Im not sure if that story was as cool for you as it was for us, but I thought I would share! Also, another cool story. So on Tuesday, Elder Fordham and I were out tracting and contacting referrals and all that fun stuff. And we were just walking the whole time for about 3 or so hours. And it was pretty hot, like 97 degrees hot. Anyway, so I was starting to get dizzy and see a little blurry and I just felt really sick. I was dehydrated. And I said to Elder Fordham, "Dang dude I need water like now." And in my head I said a little prayer that I would make it to the car to get some water. We just kept walking headed toward the car when all of a sudden I stepped on something. I looked down and there was an unopened water bottle under my foot. I didn't really know what to do, but I picked it up and it was a little bit cold and had not been opened. That kinda freaked me out a little, but I 100% believe that was a blessing from God. He truly is aware of us all the time, even when we are dehydrated and just need some water real quick to make it through the day. It was a good reminder to me. I think we get complacent sometimes and think we don't need His help, or that He is not willing to help us. But I testify that He is there and He is always ready to help us whenever we need it. So another cool story. One of our investigators, Daniel has not been able to come to church this whole transfer. He keeps giving us excuses and reasons why he can't. So we went by him on Thursday with a member to have a lesson with him, but he was having some family problems and was going to leave his wife and kids and go to Oregon the next day. We talked to him for a little bit and he eventually ended up asking for a blessing to help him make the right decision, whether to leave or not. He asked me to give him the blessing. And in the blessing I was prompted to promise him that if he stayed with his family and brought them to church on Sunday, that everything would work out. Then nothing really happened after that. But then on Sunday, we were waiting for Gospel Principles to start when someone told us we had an investigator in the hall. When we walked out, we saw Daniel and his wife and two kids standing there. We were speechless. We full on expected him to be gone to Oregon. So yeah that was pretty cool! We will see what happens with them! He is super solid and really has a desire to have a better life so we are excited! Well, that basically is all the coolest parts of my week so I will talk to you next week! Love you all! #GODSARMY #JESUSISMORMON Elder Harman

Hola a Todos!
Pues (well), this week was super good! We had the opportunity to go down to the temple in Richland and it was amazing! Then we recently just started teaching a really cool family that seems super solid so we are excited! Then we talked to a crazy drunk guy haha. We painted fire hydrants for the city in a bunch of ghetto areas so that was interesting! Oh and we had our carpets cleaned in our apartment, and now we can lay on the ground without feeling like we are going to get a disease of some kind! It seriously was nasty but now we are good! OH! And Arturo, IDK if you remember him, but President gave me some awesome news yesterday that he is doing very well and he sent me a photo of him from church! So the drunk guy. We were just walking down the street and this guy stopped us and asked us to preach to him. So we stopped and started talking to him and he was SUPER drunk. So then he kept just rambling on about random stuff. Then he asked us if we could bring him a bible and we told him yes and he started jumping up and down like a little kid, it was really sad so see what drugs and alcohol do to someone. So we started teaching a super cool family La Familia Villanueva. So for the last few weeks we have been going by and the dad kept giving us excuses for why he hadn't read and stuff like that. But then this last week we went by and he let us in and sat us down and told us how they are done giving excuses and they want to come closer to Christ and change their lives. So we were like, ha well we can do that for ya! So yeah now we are teaching them and they are praying to know if they should be baptized! So I will keep you updated on them! Alright so the temple was awesome! I seriously love going. Here is a pick of us and the zone. Anyway, I love the temple. The Lord truly does walk those halls, and you can feel it. I recently read the talk from this last conference from Elder Cook titled, See yourself in the temple. I want to invite you all to read that talk and think about it. And make any necessary changes to go to the temple. It will bless our lives forever as we keep those covenants that we make with our Heavenly Father. And think about the words of the primary song, "I love to see the temple, I’m going there someday." If you need to change anything to do so, I promise you will be blessed. I love you all so much! Thank you for all you do! Have an awesome week! #GODSARMY #JESUSISMORMON Elder Harman |
