Below is a letter Elder Harman wrote to the young men in his home ward about his average day. We thought we'd share it here.
------- What's up guys?? Hope all is well back in JR1! I miss you all so much! Keep being awesome! Every day basically is the same unless we have meetings of some kind to go to. So here is a normal day: In the morning we wake up and immediately get going. We prepare for the day, then study and plan for what we are going to do that day. During studies we find things to share and different ways to teach the people we are going to teach. Studies are super important because if we are not prepared for the day, we cannot do what the Lord needs us to in the most effective way possible. So mornings are one of the most important parts of the day. 6:30am- Wake up, work out 7:00am- Shower, eat breakfast, get ready for the day 8:00am- Personal Study 9:00am- Companionship Study 10:00am- Language Study 11:00am- Lunch 12:00pm- Leave the house to go tract/teach lessons 5:00pm- Dinner 6:00pm- Back to work 9:00pm- Be home/Plan the next day 9:30pm- Personal Time/Prepare for bed 10:30pm- In bed Sounds like a pretty lame schedule huh? So why do I do this? And why do missionaries all over the world do it? For me, I do it because I love the Lord. And I know the joy the gospel has brought me and my family. So I want that for everyone that I can find! It's so weird to me because before my mission, as some of you know, I did not really care about or really understand the gospel. But I've realized the importance of it and the impact it has on our lives. Without it, we are completely lost. My eyes have been opened to the absolutely awful, but extremely strong power of Satan and the grip he has on the world today. And the only thing standing in his way is the truth, which is the gospel. Without it, we are weak. We have no way to endure to the end on our own. The gospel is so important, it is the only thing that can save us. And we all have it in our lives already. Do we realize how blessed we are? If not, we need to figure it out. I know high school can be tough, and you may not care a whole lot about all the lame churchy stuff. But one day you will realize the amazing gift we have been given. I know I sound preachy, but I want to challenge all you young men to figure it out. If you want to serve a mission thats awesome, don't lose that desire. If you don't know if you want to, you do, trust me. And if you think you know you don't want to, you are wrong. I challenge you all to get down on your knees and get it straightened out with the Lord. And get started now on your preparation to get out and give the best gift that could ever be given through serving a mission. I want you all to think about it really hard before you make a decision to serve or not. Just don't make a decision that you will regret. Cause you will regret it for eternity. That means without end. Forever. Sorry if that is kinda mean haha, I just know how it feels to not want to serve a mission. And if I hadn't gone on a mission I would have regretted it for the rest of eternity. I love you all so much! I hope this helps someone! Elder Zev Harman

Hola amigos mios! So this week was super good. It went fast as usual. But it was good. Crazy cold though! I thought I was going to lose one of my toes the other day. Anyway, the Christmas gathering was fun! We watched a super good movie called Ephraim's Rescue. If you haven't seen it I recomend it. It's sweet and pretty funny. So you should watch it. Oh something cool happened this morning! It made us feel like Utah missionaries. We went to the post office and a lady just walked up and gave us a gift card to Wal-Mart with $100 dollars on it. Yeah pretty sick! But it made us feel like we were in Utah. We tried to get her to keep it but she just said no and left! So that was super nice of her. We are going to spend that wisely for sure! Anyway, we have a lot of things to do today so I gotta get going, but I have more info in my recording. Love you all! Have a good week!! Elder Zev Harman |
