Hey all!
Well I have now been out for 4 and a half months. It is crazy to think about. The time goes by too fast! It feels like just last week that I was filling out my papers! I can’t believe I have been in the field twice as long as I was in the MTC. It is crazy! Transfers are this week. I will be staying here in Cashmere and Leavenworth! My companion Elder Wilde is being transferred to Yakima (aka...Yakistan). You know it’s bad when it becomes normal for missionaries to hear and see guns going off. Down there we are not allowed to be outside after 8 at night. It’s sketchy! But I hope I serve down there eventually! So I will be receiving Elder Gabriel. He is from Utah, but he is Mexican and completely fluent in Spanish so hopefully he can teach me a lot! He will get here on Wednesday so that will be cool! So this week has been pretty good! We have been doing a lot of finding so that is good! We have found like 6 new investigators in the last week and a half which isn’t a ton, but for our area it’s good! Mexicans are hard to find out here! They live in like all these little canyons and in orchards and you have to search so hard for them! But it’s cool. We have one investigator who is like, so close to baptism! His name is Luis Ramirez. He is 19 and lives here in Cashmere. He is so close! Hopefully in this next month or so! He told us he just wants to find a church for himself and he said he is just confused because there are so many churches that all say they are true, and he just wants to know which one really is true. So we told him about Joseph Smith obviously, and how he was in the same position. He really like the story and he is going to read the Book of Mormon. And he wants to come to church this week so it will be awesome! He is seriously so cool! So I’ll keep you updated on him! Well that is all for this week! But I just want to bear my testimony on the importance of this gospel and the simplicity of it. It has been eye opening for me to see the change this gospel makes in people’s lives. In Utah you don’t really see that as much, because it seems like everyone is blessed with the same thing. But I have really seen how important reading the scriptures and going to church really is. This gospel is so simple and easy. But is also so easy to lose sight of what is important. I LOVE this gospel and I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope one day to repay him for all he has done for me. I’ll talk to you all next week! Love you! Elder Harman
