Hola! Como estan a todos?!
Bueno pues, these last few weeks have been AWESOME! Sorry I didn’t send an email last week. I ran out of time. But anyway, it has been a really good last couple of weeks! Elder Fordham and I have been doing a lot of tracting just trying to expand our teaching pool and find some solid people. It has been pretty successful, we have found about 15 new investigators in the last week and a half or so. We are pretty pumped! Anyway, so not a whole lot of crazy stuff happened recently, but last night there was another shooting in our area. We were just walking back to our car after doing some tracting and it was probably like 8:50-ish and we heard a car alarm going off about a block away. And then the next thing we heard was a gunshot so that was exciting! Haha pretty crazy here in Yakima, aka. Yak-City. Aight, so something I have learned over the last few weeks here in Yakima is how powerful the Restoration is. Like seriously it’s crazy! Every time I even just think about the story of Joseph Smith I can feel the power through the Spirit. It is crazy! Anyway, it has strengthened my testimony so much just being able to teach about it. At least once a day we talk to someone who is completely ignoring us or not really listening or straight up doesn't want anything to do with us. But as soon as we start talking about the Restoration, the situation completely changes and I can feel the spirit working on them. And I can see the change in their eyes and body language. It is just incredible. And also at times heart breaking to see as agency and the adversary step in, even for a second, and completely change the whole situation. But no matter what I can always feel the spirit testifying that what we are saying is true. It is so amazing and I am so blessed to have this opportunity to share that with people. Seriously though, think about it. A 14 year old boy with basically an elementary school education, and working on a farm, just had a simple question. Which church is true? And well, you know the rest. But I want to leave you all with a challenge. And I would love to hear back about it if you choose to try it out. But I challenge all of you to read the Joseph Smith story again. And really ponder and think about it. And then ask God if it’s true. Cause he will answer you. He answered a 14 year old farm boy. And he answered me. And trust me before my mission, I didn’t really care, but I wish I had. And I don’t care if you think you know it’s true already. Anyway, just want to leave that with you all. Well I’ll talk to you next week love you all! #JESUSISMORMON Con muchisimo Amor, Elder Harman

Hola a todos!
Alrighty, well this week I hit my 6 month mark! Which is super weird cause it feels like maybe a month ago tops I went into the MTC...It’s kinda sad it’s going by so fast. But anyway, I burnt a tie as a celebration. I guess that is just a missionary thing haha but it was pretty sick! I’ll send a video here in a little bit. But yeah pretty crazy! So this was a SUPER AWESOME week! Elder Fordham and I had a ton of fun! First off, last Monday night after p-day we started the week off right by finding 4 new investigators! Which was sick cause one of them is a young family with some little kids so that’s super cool. I have a little Plan de Salvacion puzzle thing that they just loved! Then Tuesday we had Trainer Trainee and Doctrine of Christ training. The Trainer Trainee is for first time trainers to learn how to do it (train) haha. Well kinda...we just have to figure it out so that’s interesting. But then the Doctrine of Christ is for missionaries half way through training so we had to go to that too for Elder Fordham! Those are always good! Then on Wednesday we did a lot of tracting! Which btw, Elder Fordham used to hate tracting until then. But now he loves it! I love tracting cause we can just talk to people for days it’s so sick! It’s hard sometimes in the heat, but if you just stay focused on the work and trying to work as hard as you can, you kinda forget about the heat. It is hard sometimes though, like on Wednesday it was 90 degrees...and we were in long sleeve shirts! But it was still an awesome day we taught a bunch of lessons and found a bunch of new investigators to talk to so these next couple weeks are going to be fun! And we have a bunch of tracting planned in so that will be interesting! Anyway this week was good. Something I learned was how important it is to just stay positive and have the right intentions while talking to people. Instead of getting defensive when people try to bash and just trying to prove them wrong, just focusing on the purpose for why we are talking to them and how much it can help them. I realized it’s all in your mindset and intentions. They can change the whole conversation with people. Well have an awesome week! Love you all! #GODSARMY #JESUSISMORMON Elder Harman PS - Here are some photos of the apartment. You can see some photos from the trainer/trainee meeting here. |
