Hello everyone!
Well this week was good! Much better than last week for sure! I am not sick anymore, except my ears are still plugged and I can barely hear anything. So that has made things interesting this week. But other than that I am fine now! So we have been doing a lot of tracting this week and just trying to find new people cause everyone that was in the teaching pool when I got here have been dropped. So we are kinda rebuilding like the Jazz have been for the last decade...haha. Seriously though, we are finding some really cool people that could have some serious potential! So yeah this week some cool stuff happened, we almost got shot! Elder Miles and I were walking back to our car after tracting for a while and on the way walked past this two guys who were yelling at a homeless man about something he had done and Elder Miles saw what we’re pretty sure was a gun under one of the guy’s shirt. We were worried because we would have been the only witness if things had escalated and we definitely stood out. Thankfully they calmed down and we were able to get home safe. I also showed Elder Miles the tent city in downtown Yakima. Also, this week we found a super cool lady named Esther! We found her tracting on Wednesday and set up an appointment for Thursday. We went by on Thursday just thinking it was going to be another typical, "Otro dia"(another day), that every Mexican seems to say whenever we talk to them. But she sat down with us outside in her yard and we just talked to her and got to know her for a little bit and ended up teaching the Restoration to her. She seemed to really like it. She said she used to talk to missionaries before but slowly stopped. But when we asked her to be baptized she was super excited and kept saying, "Es me toca"(It’s my turn). She is so cool! And is on date for the 16th of July so we will keep you updated on her! We have been working with our branch to try and get them excited about doing missionary work. And we started doing a Branch family home evening to try and teach the importance of this work and get members pumped and wanting to come out with us. So we taught a little bit and played some games it was a blast! Hopefully it helps get them wanting to do some missionary work of their own! Well that is all I have for this week. I just really encourage you all to pray for missionary opportunities. Missionary work is the most important thing anyone could possibly do in this life. I think if we all understood the importance of it, we would want to do it. I wish I had a better understanding of it when I was home. I think I would have done things a little differently. So I invite you to pray and ask for those opportunities and take every chance you get to share this gospel with others. It is a huge blessing in our lives as members and it is our duty to share it. Anyway, I’ll talk to you next week! Hope it’s a good one! Love you all! Elder Harman Ps. Did you know Jesus was a gangster? I didn’t either...but we had a former member of the church tell us that while tracting one day...interesting haha.
