Hola! Well this week literally flew by! I forgot it was P-Day today so we are a little late to emailing! Haha But it was a super good week! We have been doing a ton of tracting which is always interesting. That's when you see all the most random things I swear! We got attacked by a dog this week!...no worries...it was about the size of my foot. I have come to have an even stronger hate towards small dogs. EVERYONE has one here. And they are sooooo annoying!! Anyway, not a ton happened this week but it was really good! So there is a family in the branch here se llama la familia Ixchiu. They are recent converts of about 2 years. They have 5 kids one of which is an 18 year old named AJ who is not yet baptized. The parents just recently went to the temple and did their endowments a few weeks ago, and are just waiting for him to get baptized so they can get sealed. He is super solid, more active then a lot of the members, but for some reason doesn't feel ready for baptism. We are going to start working with him this week. We think having elders teach him might make a difference. Just because he has only ever been taught by sister missionaries and we are thinking maybe he just wasn't comfortable or something. Idk, but we have a really good feeling about him! Well I don't have a ton of time left but i want to share a quote someone sent to me that I really like. Its from President Monson. "Courage may be necessary for you to believe, it will at times be necessary to obey. It will most certainly be required as you endure until that day when you will leave this mortal existence. I have spoken over the years with many individuals who have told me. "I have so many problems, such real concerns, I'm overwhelmed with the challenges of life. What can I do? I have offered to them, and now offer to you, this specific suggestion: seek heavenly guidance one day at a time. Life by the yard is hard, but by the inch its a cinch. Each of us can be true for just one day--and then one more and then one more after that until we have lived a lifetime guided by the Spirit, a lifetime close to the Lord, a lifetime of good deeds and righteousness. The Savior promised, "Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life." That's so awesome. One thing I have had to learn out here is to have courage in all I do. Especially learning a language. Its hard, but it has to be done. It reminds me of another quote my grandpa used to always say, "A man becomes a man, when he does what he doesn't want to do, when he doesn't want to do it." These times in the world are hard. We are going to be required to make a choice at some point whether or not we are going to do what is asked. But if we do it, the blessings are innumerable. I know that this gospel is true. I know that without a doubt in my mind. I am so glad for the opportunity to share the truth that we know with so many of our brothers and sisters that are looking for it. I love you all and hope you have a good week!! Elder Harman _______________________________________________ Elder Harman talks about meeting Jewish DJ Khaled. Which is pretty spot on based on his description of him. If you don't know who DJ Khaled is I've added a photo below for reference. If you're a watcher of TV you've probably seen him in this Silk commercial. He's known for being the most positive voice on Snapchat; always giving advise on what he calls the keys to life. Most of them are about enjoying the little things like cereal or a good meal. You know, things people take for granted. He's always saying how They (meaning the world or others) don't want you to succeed, which is why you have to work hard to prove them wrong. And he always ends his comments by wishing you a blessed day. Not a bad kind of guy to run into, I'd say.
