Hola!! Aight so this week has FLOWN by!! Seriously, I feel like it was yesterday that I was emailing, kinda crazy! Anyway, this week was really good! We had a lot of lessons fall through so that was kinda disappointing but everything else was really awesome! So there are a few questions I am just going to start answering in my weekly emails to make them more interesting...hopefully! haha So, our greatest challenge this week was on Thursday we had like 6 super solid lessons set up and had members coming to 5 of them! Buuut, literally every single one of them fell through. So that kinda sucked. But the greatest blessing this past week was that a less active family that I have been working with since i have been here, finally came to church!!! We have been going by them like once or twice a week since I have been in this area and we have had some awesome lessons and we always thought they would come the next week and they never did! But this Sunday they were finally there!! We were sooo pumped to see them! And they were pretty excited to be there again! Hopefully we can keep them coming! My favorite person this week was probably this little asian kid a family we ate dinner with adopted about a year ago. He was hilarious! He just would not stop talking and asking us questions! it was so funny! He was probably my fav. A scripture that had an impact on me throughout the week was Alma 26:27: Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success. I read it in my studies and it was just exactly what I needed at this point. Super good scripture, one of my favorites! The funniest thing, we talked to this guy that said he has been chosen by God to teach people all he knows. The funny part is that he told us first off, that Yakima is where the Garden of Eden was because every single kind of fruit grows here apparently, and its the only place in the whole world that it makes sense. Second, he told us one day he needed some drugs but didnt have money, but he found $20 bill on the ground, he said it was from God. We tried to explain to him that God would not give him money for drugs but it didnt seem to help. I guess thats not really that funny...kinda sad. But yeah that was interesting. Some goals we accomplished this week, well we were able to help that less active family finally come back to church so that was cool! Some goals for next week, we are hoping to have a church tour with one of our investigators, her name is Kika, she is super cool! So that will be fun! What I love most about the area is the lessons I have learned since I have been here. Its a hard area, but when the going gets tough, you get tougher right? But yeah I think I have/will love the lessons learned here. And also how much I have been able to practice my Spanish since being here. I dont feel like I really started learning it until I came here! What I love most about serving a mission this week, I love seeing how happy the gospel makes people. The less active family I talked about just had smiles on there faces the whole time they were there. It was just so great to see that. This Gospel is such a blessing in our lives and I am so grateful for the opportunity I have now to share it with others. I have come to love this gospel and everything about it. I know with all my heart that this is the one true church on the earth today. I know Joseph Smith was called of God to do a marvelous work and wonder. I love the Book of Mormon. I encourage you all to read it. Start from the beginning, with the introduction. Something the mission trainers talked about when they were here was the importance of the Book of Mormon, and of 1 Nephi 1. Its the first chapter for a reason. Anyway, I just challenge you all to read it, ponder it, and pray about it. If you have already read it, do it again. If you have never read it, start now. Read everyday, even if it just a single verse. Even the Prophet reads in the Book of Mormon everyday. There is power in that book that we cannot find anywhere else. Anyway, love you all! Have a fantastic week! Elder Zev Harman
